A native Texan and UT grad, Anna grew up dancing classical ballet, and is a lifelong distance runner. During law school, Anna took up Pilates and yoga to tone her body and quiet her mind. When she moved back to Austin in 2015 and discovered MOD, Anna was immediately hooked on the hour-long escape achieved through mind-body connection, and was thrilled to watch herself grow stronger with every class. After realizing that she struggled to go a day without coming to MOD as a student, Anna decided to share the benefits of this amazing workout with others by becoming an instructor. Anna is passionate about the MOD method because it incorporates key aspects of her favorite fitness disciplines: the targeted effectiveness of Pilates, the “race against yourself” burn of distance running, the alignment and flexibility work of ballet, and the mindfulness of yoga—all while being gentle on the joints and effective for all levels. Anna believes MOD is unique among barre studios for its consistently rigorous instructors, dynamic sequences that never feel “pre-packaged,” and focus on the Austin community. Anna wants every client to feel both challenged and encouraged, and enjoy the satisfaction that comes from pushing past the limitations we envision for ourselves, and discovering that we are even stronger than we imagine. (And she may even get you to smile through the burn with a snappy one-liner or two). Outside the studio, Anna swaps her sticky socks for skirt suits as a trial and appellate litigator, and travels every chance she gets. She can’t wait to see you at the barre!
